2024-2026 Postdoctoral Fellowships in Advanced Cognitive and Behavioral Psychology

The Cognitive Behavioral Institute of Albuquerque, LLC has an opening for two 24-month Full-Time Postdoctoral Fellows specializing in Cognitive and Behavioral Psychology.  The Institute is a private, outpatient practice and APPIC training institute serving adults and adolescents, operating Mondays through Fridays, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM.  The positions are available immediately, and the start dates will depend on the availability of the successful candidates.

To qualify for a Postdoctoral Fellowhip, candidates must have earned a Doctoral Degree from an APA accredited program in Clinical Psychology and must have completed an APA-accredited internship.  Candidates who have completed their internships and are in the process of completing their Doctoral requirements may be considered for positions as Clinical Fellows prior to the commencement of their Postdoctoral Fellowships.  All predoctoral Clinical Fellowship supervised hours accrued at this Institute  nonetheless count equally toward licensure in the State of New Mexico, however each trainee is responsible for knowing and meeting the licensure requirements of their preferred target states or jurisdictions.  All successful candidates must demonstrate a primary career interest in providing, studying, and disseminating the highest levels of evidence-based psychotherapy.

Each Fellow receives 2 hours per week of individual, face-to-face supervision by a licensed, board-certified Psychologist.  In addition, 2 hours per week of case conference and didactics are provided.  Fellows typically engage in approximately 25 hours of direct client contact per week.  The institute offers full-time clerical and administrative support, allowing our clinicians to focus fully on clinical issues and enhancement of expertise in CBT.  Click here to see our Candidate Brochure.

The Postdoctoral Fellowhip in Cognitive and Behavioral Psychology is designed to meet the supervised experience requirements for independent licensure in all states.  The training program aspires to maintain the highest possible training standards, as outlined on our Training Standards page. The training program is also tailored to meet the specialization requirements for Board Certification in Cognitive and Behavioral Psychology, with potential sponsorship for certification by the Academy of Cognitive Therapy, the American Board of Behavioral and Cognitive Psychology, and the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP).

Each postdoctoral fellow is a full employee of the Institute, and has his or her own private office, computer with high-speed internet, phone, video recording system, and access to the institute fitness room.  The guaranteed annual salary for each Fellow is $75,000, with opportunities to earn more depending on the particular services provided. Additional benefits include Health Insurance, Professional Liability Insurance, a $2500 ABCT conference travel stipend, $1100 for a complete package of EPPP study materials, vacation time, and sick leave, among others.

The institute is committed to a high level of professional collegial support, therefore the successful candidate must demonstrate the ability and commitment to collaborate as a member of a highly supportive skill-building team.
